~ About Willow Bend Retreat ~

The house is circa 1890. We have lovingly restored our 3 story home, respecting the past and exposing the layers of history hidden by the years. This was the original farm which owned much of the acreage in the surrounding area. Originally, this was a family dairy farm, which continued well into the 1960’s. Remnants, family names and dates can still be seen carved into cement poured for the barn foundation, troughs and livestock yard.

In 1999 we bought the farm, including the last intact acreage, and began the long journey of renovating and restoring the house, land and barns; always striving to keep the historic integrity in mind. Improvements continue to be made. Several wooden buildings representing a lifestyle now gone are still standing and are in use.

The Farm

The Creek

We are a working farm with a variety of animals, most of which have come to us through rescue and adoption. Llamas, horses, goats, ducks, chickens, geese, swans, peacocks, guinea fowl, 2 Great Danes, one cat and even a ferret all call our farm home.

Zona the Goat

Preston the Peacock

The milking parlor now serves as our pottery and mixed media art studio, housing everything you need to create your own works of art. The milk storage house has been converted into our tack room for all of our horse equipment and saddles. Artwork, antiques and unique treasures throughout our home and grounds make visiting a truly memorable experience.

The Studio

The third floor has been renovated and turned into a wonderful and inviting space. Recessed lights accent our built-in window seat that is big enough to stretch out on and read or take a well deserved nap. This room also offers a television, surround sound stereo, books and games. The third floor book and movie library are available for your use for the duration of your stay.  A refrigerator, fully stocked with complimentary beverages and snacks, is here for your enjoyment.
